Regulation 16

Gayton and Gayton Thorpe Parish Council submitted their Neighbourhood Plan to the council on 27 January 2023 in accordance with the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012, Regulation 15. We have reviewed the submitted documentation and can confirm this meets the requirements of Regulation 15 (Legal check letter).

As the relevant local planning authority, we are now required to consult on the submitted Neighbourhood Plan prior in advance of an independent examination, under Regulation 16.

The consultation will last six weeks from Friday 17 February 2023 until 11:59pm on Friday 31 March 2023. Responses will be given directly to the examiner to determine if the plan meets the “basic conditions”, the statutory tests that a Neighbourhood Plan needs to fulfil.

Gayton Parish Council has also prepared a suite of supporting evidence documents, that are available to view on the Parish Council’s own Neighbourhood Plan web page.

A hard copy of the plan is available to view at the Council offices 9.00am to 5.00pm Monday to Thursday and 9.00am to 4.45pm on Fridays at:

Making Representations

Representations should be submitted by 11:59pm on Friday 31 March 2023.

If possible they should be submitted using our online portal which will enable us to process these in an efficient and timely manner.

Please note that all comments will be made publicly available to read following the closure of the consultation period.

Any comments may include a request to be notified of the Borough Council’s decision under Regulation 19 in relation to the Neighbourhood Plan.
