The Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) Household Support Fund was introduced in October 2021 to provide support to vulnerable households in most need of support with essentials over winter.
Although this is considered an extension to the previous two DWP Household Support Fund schemes, it is a new fund and subject to its own conditions.
The DWP Household Support Fund can help people experiencing immediate financial hardship to pay for food, household energy bills and other essentials.
The DWP Household Support Fund runs from 1 October 2022 to 31 March 2023.
Who can apply
We accept applications from, or on behalf of, people who are in financial difficulties. The person receiving the help must:
- be over the age of 16
- live in the King’s Lynn & West Norfolk area
- be struggling to meet immediate and essential needs for themselves or their dependents
How to apply
Due to the volume of requests being received, your application may not be dealt with immediately and will be prioritised according to the information you provide.
To apply for the DWP Household Support Fund you’ll need to tell us:
- information about you and other members in the household
- information about the difficulties you’re facing and the support required
- information about your financial situation
Applications can be made by the applicant, their representative or a third party acting on their behalf.
When we receive your application, we will review the information you provide and your income will be verified with other sources such as the Department of Work and Pensions. Before we make a decision, we will need to speak to you to discuss the information provided on your application form (this call may show as a withheld number or from a mobile).
