New or replacement bins

How to request a new or replacement bin

Request a new or replacement bin

Replacing bins costs us over £30,000 a year, so unfortunately we must charge you £39.50 for another one. Supplying police documentation for a stolen bin could reduce the fee to £19.75. There’s no charge for bins damaged by refuse collectors, or for food waste caddies that are missing or broken. Please complete our online form to proceed.

Please also complete our online form if:

  • you've moved into a newly built property and require new bins
  • you wish to order an additional brown garden waste bin

If you do not have a brown garden waste bin and wish to order one, please visit our garden waste and composting page. Please note, new and additional brown garden waste bin collections are a charged-for service.

You can request a new or replacement bin using our online request form. You can now track the progress of your request through registering for our My Account service.

Registering for an account is easy and will allow you to securely access our services 24/7.

To help prevent the loss of your bin, paint your house number and/or name and postcode on the front of it. For additional security, you can register your black and green bin details with us to make it easier to identify if your bin goes missing and is then later found (this means we can then return your old bin to you, remove any replacement, and refund any money you may have been charged).

Additional bins

In certain circumstances we may be able to supply you with an additional bin.

General waste (black bin)

If you're finding that your black bin is always full, you can put any extra general waste into a black plastic sack. You can seal each bag with a red tag (which you can purchase from our Council Information Centre at £1.80 each) and put it out with your bin on collection day - only bags that are red-tagged will be removed.

You can also take your extra waste to one of Norfolk County Council's household recycling centres.

Under some circumstance (for example, if you have a particularly large family) you may be eligible for an additional black bin. To make a request, please complete our online form, and we will assess your request. Or we may work with you to try to reduce the volume of your waste.

Recycling bins (green bin)

In most circumstances, additional green recycling bins are available free of charge. Our dedicated waste advisers will inform you of any associated costs (if applicable) when you order your new bin(s).
