The Local Plan 2021-2040
The current Local Plan was adopted in March 2025. This plan guides development and use of land up to 2040. It will steer and shape new development, setting out the long term plans for the borough (up to 15 years ahead). It contains a number of borough wide policies to help shape new development and it provides the spatial strategy for growth within the borough (i.e. what development goes where, when and how it can be delivered). Full details about the adoption process are set out in the Local Plan Adoption Statement (27 March 2025).
