The Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment (HELAA) is an appraisal of the amount of land available for housing and economic use
About the HELAA
The HELAA is required in order to assess the capacity of suitable land. Its purpose is to test:
- Whether there is sufficient land available to meet the identified need
- Where this may potentially be located
Please note the inclusion of a site within the HELAA does not mean that it will be allocated, or that planning consent will be given. The HELAA is a technical document which will inform the Local Plan review.
