This document sets out the Government's planning policies for England, and how these are expected to be applied. It was originally published on 27 March 2012. That version was replaced on 24 July 2018.

Planning practice guidance

Planning policy for traveller sites
This policy should be read in conjunction with the NPPF. It replaced Circular 01/2006 Planning for Gypsy & Traveller Caravan Sites, and Circular 04/2007 Planning for Travelling People. You can view the policy on the GOV.UK website - Planning policy for traveller sites.
