Public space protection orders

Find out about the public space protection orders (PSPOs) in place in the borough

Alcohol PSPOs

Alcohol consumption can cause alcohol related anti-social behaviour in public. It can have an adverse effect on the quality of life of those in the locality. This has been noticed in the areas of:

  • King's Lynn
  • Hunstanton
  • Downham Market

Alcohol related anti-social behaviour is often enough to warrant restrictions. The PSPOs explain the restrictions we've put in place within the area.

Please note; these orders do not place an automatic ban on consuming alcohol within the zones. But they place a restriction on consumption where it's causing, or is likely to cause, alcohol related disorder.

The Public Spaces Protection Order (Control of Dogs) 2015 places controls on dog fouling, requiring dogs to be on leads, or banning dogs in certain parts of the borough. You can find out more on our dog issues page.
