Information for owners of sleeping accommodation businesses

The Fire Reform Regulations Act 2006

The Fire Reform Regulations Act 2006 requires all sleeping accommodation businesses to:

  • produce a fire risk assessment, and;
  • review it annually

A booklet to guide you

The Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG) have released guidance notes for providers of sleeping accommodation.

The booklet “Do you have Paying Guests?” offers advice to the hospitality industry including:

  • B&B’s
  • Guest Houses
  • Self-Catering properties

The booklet is designed to encourage compliance with fire regulations. It offers advice on:

  • reducing fire risks
  • the risk assessment process
  • appropriate fire measures for your type of premises
