Rules summary

  • All entries must be completed by 4 September and late entries will not be accepted.
  • The limit of teams this year has been set at 60 and we have a total of 29 place(s) remaining.
  • All karts must pass scrutineering before being allocated a race number.
  • All competitors must provide and wear their own crash helmet (no crash helmet, no race).
  • Competitors must follow the precise instruction of the race marshals at all times.
  • Adults with junior drivers must stay with their children at all times during the event.

We will use your personal information for the purposes of the provision of the Soap Box Derby. The processing of this information is necessary for the Council to undertake a public task, i.e. the processing is necessary for the Council to perform a task in the public interest or for its official functions, and the task or function has a clear basis in law, in this case the Soap Box Derby, as amended.

Your information will be kept strictly confidential. It will be stored separately from other information in a secure, password-protected database on the Council’s computer system.

Your personal information will be kept for as long as you require a the Soap Box Derby and for a period after the service is terminated. We will only use your data within the terms of data protection laws, will delete your data securely and only keep it for as long as necessary. We will review dates for keeping personal data in the future and if necessary update these privacy notices.

You may see copies of the data held about you and ask for it to be corrected or deleted.

Declaration

Disclaimer for under-16s to be agreed by parent/guardian

It is essential that you have parental consent for any Juniors under 16 years to take part in the event as a member of your crew. Please confirm the following:

  • The age of any under 16 in my team will also be 10 years or older on the day of the event (born 22 September 2014 or earlier)
  • Parent/guardian has confirmed their son/daughter is in good health and consents to their son/daughter taking part in the event
  • Parent/guardian consents to emergency treatment being administered to their son/daughter if necessary by the event medical staff
  • Parent/guardian consents for their son/daughter to be photographed during the event and photographs being used by the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk for event promotional purposes

  • I/we understand that by signing this form (ticking this box), I accept full responsibility for my own safety and the safety of any minors in the crew.
  • I/we have read the full rules and specifications and agree to abide by them. I/we agree to follow the instructions of event organisers, marshals and scrutineers.
