Information about the 2023 Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk Soap Box Derby
This year's event was held on Sunday 2 April 2023 and marked 70 years since the first Soap Box Derby was held in Hunstanton in 1953.
About the event
This year’s Hunstanton Soap Box Derby was blessed with sunshine and excitement! The event was full of thrills, spills and excitement. More than 5000 spectators lined Hunstanton’s hilly streets (course map) across the day and were entertained by all the action.
Congratulations go to all participants who constructed karts of all kinds of whacky designs, shapes and sizes. And a big thank you goes to all those behind the scenes - council staff and volunteers alike - who worked hard all day to bring the event together so successfully.
