How to change the DPS on a premises or give consent to be a DPS
Apply to vary the DPS
Please complete this application if you want to change the DPS to someone else (who holds a personal licence).
To apply to vary the licence to specify an individual as DPS you'll need:
- consent to be DPS - please complete our consent form
- a valid debit or credit card for the fee
Once you’ve completed the form, please send us your original premises licence and summary
Request to be removed as DPS
To give us notice to be removed as DPS you'll need:
- personal licence number
- premises licence number
- to send a copy of the form to the holder of the premises licence, if this is not you

Remove the requirement for a DPS
For premises such as Churches, Community Centres and similar who hold a premises licence, they can apply to have the requirement for a DPS on the licence removed. The effect is to make a management committee collectively responsible for the sale of alcohol. This can be done:
- at the start of a new application (no additional costs apply if requested at the same time as a new application)
- anytime within the licence lifetime (in this case the fee is £23.00)
