Information about our Care and Repair service
Established in 1999, Care and Repair is the local Home Improvement Agency (HIA) for King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, Breckland and Fenland.
We support disabled and older people by providing a range of adaptations, repairs and equipment, promoting independent living within the home.
Working closely alongside health, social care and the voluntary sector, our aim is to ensure your home continues to meet your developing needs.
To access our service you will initially be asked some questions over the phone to help determine your need and whether an assessment is required.
Our adaptations can help you to access bathing and toilet facilities and also your home safely. This may be in the form of a level access shower (LAS), stair lift, through floor lift or ramp. We can also provide you with equipment including shower boards, stools and grab rails.
In addition we have a handyperson service which can assist with home security, energy efficiency and falls prevention measures. It also offers practical solutions for those living with dementia.
Our officers can provide you with information on other areas including benefits, keeping warm and well and energy efficiency within the home. They can also help with accessing grants including the Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), loans and charitable funding where possible.
