Hunstanton's main beach has been awarded a Seaside Award for 2021 by environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy.

Hunstanton is one of 132 beaches to gain this standard this year.

Keep Britain Tidy's Seaside Award recognises and rewards beaches in England that achieve the highest standards of beach management. Judges consider aspects such as the quality of facilities, information and presence of beach patrol as well as environmental management.

Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Culture, Heritage and Health at the borough council, said: “We’re delighted that Hunstanton will once again be flying the Seaside Award Flag in 2021. This nationally-recognised award assures visitors that when they come to Hunstanton, they're going to find a clean, safe, attractive and well-managed beach.

"As the country moves on to step 3 of the roadmap, and opens up even more, this will be reassuring to our residents, returning visitors and many new people who come to sample the beautiful Hunstanton seaside this Summer. I look forward to seeing everyone enjoy their time at the beach responsibly."
