Residents asked to ‘shop local’ this Saturday

Small Business Saturday

Published: Friday, 4th December 2020

West Norfolk consumers are being encouraged to 'shop local' and support small businesses this weekend as part of Small Business Saturday UK.

Saturday 5 December is Small Business Saturday where customers across the U.K go out and support all types of small businesses, online, in offices and in stores.

Cllr Graham Middleton, Cabinet Member for Business Development, said: "We’re incredibly lucky in west Norfolk to have some fantastic, innovative, local businesses. We’ve been working hard to make our high streets safe ahead of many shops reopening this week."

"I’m pleased to support Small Business Saturday as we all know the significance of backing our local businesses, particularly this year, and the positive influence they have across our borough. Many of them have an online presence, so if you are concerned about heading into town, please look them up online and show your support there."

Vicky Etheridge, Manager of King’s Lynn BID, added: "If you’re in King’s Lynn Town Centre this weekend, supporting the many great businesses available, please consider popping over to the Alive Corn Exchange in the Tuesday Market Place for the Farmers Market. It’s taking place on Saturday and Sunday and features a variety of great local traders. It’s another good reason to visit King’s Lynn."
