King’s Court will be closed for borough council services from 2pm on Wednesday 24 December 2025 and will reopen on Friday 2 January 2026 at 9am.
The building will be open between Christmas and New Year, as the Department for Work and Pensions / Job Centre will be working as normal over the period (except for the Bank Holidays).
For emergencies, such as homelessness, during the closure please call 01553 616601.
Most of our services are available online, we recommend visiting our website. Further detailed information can be found at west-norfolk.gov.uk/westnorfolkwinter.
Waste & recycling collections
The festive season is the busiest time of the year for domestic waste and recycling collections.
Christmas waste and recycling calendars containing details of changed collection dates over Christmastime and New Year have been published online and will be featured on the back pages of Your Local Paper published on 24 and 31 December 2025. All bin collection details are available online at west-norfolk.gov.uk/yourbins.
Additional recycling can be put in any clear bag and put out with your green recycling bin for collection.
If you have filled your black bin, excess waste can be disposed of at your local Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Visit norfolk.gov.uk for locations, opening times, and booking details. Our crews will only collect the waste inside your black bin, unless you have pre-purchased red tags for excess waste.
Please continue to put your outdoor food waste bin out with your waste or recycling collection. Brown bin collections will continue to be made during the festive period too but not on your usual day. Please check west-norfolk.gov.uk/yourbins to find out when it will take place.
Residents living in a bagged waste collection area who need more recycling sacks can order them at west-norfolk.gov.uk/orderrecyclingsacks.
To report that your bin has not been emptied, please visit west-norfolk.gov.uk/missedbins or call 0330 1099220. Please report this within two days after the collection was due and before 12 noon on the second day.
There will be no collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or Bank Holiday Monday 1 January 2026.
