The annual Dragon Festival, originally held at the Guildhall, took over King’s Lynn last Saturday, 8 November.
Cllr Sue Lintern, Cabinet Member for Culture and Events, said:
“We introduced this event at St George’s Guildhall a few years ago to celebrate the record that Dragon Collars had been on site there from the 1500s.
“With the regeneration work being carried out at the Guildhall, that venue is unavailable this year but it’s wonderful to see the Minster, Stories of Lynn, Lynn Museum, Corn Exchange, St. Nicholas’ Chapel, True’s Yard, the Majestic and King’s Lynn Town Guides step in to host family friendly activities for dragon hunters young and old.
“While the Guildhall is out of action, I’m pleased to see that the learning and engagement session events are being held across the borough. As well as the activity in King’s Lynn town centre we were able to work with the library service so that dragon events were held in Dersingham, Downham Market, Hunstanton, and Gaywood.”
The event, which was made possible thanks to funding from the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk and the UK government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, included activities that had been organised in association with Norfolk Museums Service and Alive West Norfolk.
