NOTICE OF REFERENDUM: Marshland St James

Neighbourhood planning referendum

On Thursday 2 October 2025 voters in Marshland St James are due to go to the polls to vote in a Neighbourhood Planning Referendum.

Anyone not already registered to vote must do so by Tuesday 16 September 2025 if they wish to cast a vote in this referendum.

The polling station will be open from 7am – 10pm at Marshland Hall.

Anyone who is unable to vote in person can check if they are eligible for a postal or proxy vote by contacting Electoral Services on 01553 616773.

The deadline for applications to vote by post is 5pm on Wednesday 17 September 2025 (for new postal voting arrangements and amendments to existing arrangements, including postal proxies). This is also the deadline for amendments to existing arrangements to vote by proxy.

The deadline for new applications to vote by proxy is 5pm on Wednesday 24 September 2025.

The deadline for Voter Authority Certificate (VAC) applications is 5pm on Wednesday 24 September 2025.

The deadline for emergency proxy vote applications (if the emergency arose after 5pm on Wednesday 24 September 2025) is 5pm on Thursday 2 October 2025.

The votes will be counted on Friday 3 October 2025 and the result announced approximately midday.
