Celebrating the people and places – Love West Norfolk 2025

Love West Norfolk 2025

Published: Wednesday, 9th July 2025

Love West Norfolk Day, which has taken place on 14 February for the last eight years, has evolved into a two-week celebration of the people and places in our area.

This year it starts on Monday 14 July and finishes on Norfolk Day, Sunday 27 July. Every day on the Love West Norfolk social media channels the great people and places in our area will be recognised. Residents, organisations, businesses and visitors will be encouraged to take part and support by tagging in #LoveWestNorfolk.

Cllr Andy Bullen, the Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, explained how he will play his part:

“We set up Love West Norfolk Day in 2017 to highlight our beautiful area and the incredible people who make it so special to live and work here.

“This annual day has taken place on Valentines Day and, in the past, we have drawn attention to our west Norfolk heroes, environmental champions and also some beautiful landscapes, some off the beaten track. This year we decided that one day was not long enough to acknowledge our great people and places, so will spend two weeks telling people why we #LoveWestNorfolk.

“Once again some of our partner organisations will also mark the occasion. I am looking forward to my grand tour as I plan to visit as many towns and villages in West Norfolk as possible. It should be a wonderful two weeks of celebrating the best in the west as we build up to Norfolk Day.”

In addition to the Mayor’s Grand Tour, other activities planned during the two weeks of Love West Norfolk include:

  • Parkruns in Hunstanton, Sandringham and King’s Lynn will celebrate their volunteers and many runners who take part with a takeover during the Love West Norfolk period.
  • Residents will be encouraged to request our Love West Norfolk litter picking kits, these can be booked online. These were recently used by London Road 21st King’s Lynn Cubs to clear the Walks park in King's Lynn.
  • The many volunteers who make a big difference in West Norfolk will be highlighted.
  • Residents and visitors will be invited to send in their pictures that celebrate the people and places of West Norfolk. Pictures will be shared on Love West Norfolk social channels and the Mayor will pick his favourites to be published in a future edition of KL Magazine.
  • The Corn Exchange Cinema is offering 2 for 1 cinema tickets when bought over the counter on Saturday 19 July. Just quote “Love West Norfolk” when purchasing your tickets.
