The owner of a motorcycle has been issued with a Community Protection Warning after the owners motorbike was seen on CCTV travelling at speed and pulling wheelies across Kingsway Field.
The warning letter has no expiry date, and any further anti-social behaviour involving the motorbike owner or their vehicle may result in a Community Protection Notice (CPN) being issued against the individual concerned. If that is breached, the individual may face conviction and a possible fine up to £2,500. Officers may also obtain a warrant or forfeiture order to seize the motorbike.
Cllr Jo Rust, Cabinet member for People and Communities, said: “The borough council is working with West Norfolk Police on their RISE campaign which is focusing on not only reducing crime and antisocial behaviour in and around North Lynn but also working with local people to make long term improvements.
“This owner has allowed their motorbike to be ridden in an illegal and dangerous manner through Kingsway football field, damaging the pitch and causing alarm and distress to those users of the playing field who were present at the time. By issuing this warning we are making it clear to residents who misuse their property in an antisocial and inconsiderate manner that we will act. We will continue to work with our partners to make North Lynn a safer and more pleasant place to live, work and visit.”
If you witness antisocial behaviour, please report it to Norfolk Police by phoning 101 or the Community Safety Noise and Nuisance team at the borough council by calling 01553 616200 or emailing csnn@west-norfolk.gov.uk
