West Norfolk Businesses: Help to Shape a Plan for Our Area

Economic survey 2024

Published: Tuesday, 2nd April 2024

Businesses in West Norfolk are being invited to share their thoughts and help to shape a plan for the future of the area.

The Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk is developing a new ten-year economic strategy which will allow West Norfolk to harness its strengths and bring long-term benefits.

Through the new strategy, an ambitious vision for West Norfolk will be created along with a plan for investment that could include opportunities to develop skills, improve infrastructure, support businesses and growth, or promote the area, amongst other themes.

To help inform the strategy, business owners, managers, and employees in West Norfolk are being asked for their views on running or working in a business in the area, what support they need to develop or contribute to the growth of their business, and their aspirations for the district’s future: www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/KLWNES

Councillor Alistair Beales, Cabinet Member for Business commented:

“Creating this economic strategy for the Borough  will not only provide a unifying economic vision, but will also provide a plan for how we can capitalise on the enormous potential we have in West Norfolk.

“The new strategy will allow us to identify a clear approach and priorities for future investment, building on existing investment we have secured to date, which will make West Norfolk an even better place for people to live, visit, work, and do business.

“We want to create this strategy together with the public and local businesses and the first step for us is gaining an insight into the perspective and experience of those who are running and working in businesses across West Norfolk.

“If this applies to you, please do have your say and help us  shape the future for West Norfolk.”

The development of a West Norfolk economic strategy aligns with the creation of a county-wide strategy which is being led by Norfolk County Council to support the economic growth of Norfolk.

Both strategies are being developed in tandem, meaning that the local, tailored opportunities identified through the West Norfolk approach will feed into the wider plan for Norfolk.

In addition to the survey, further opportunities for engagement will be offered in the coming months by both councils.
