Heritage Open Day and Classic Car Show postponed.
Heritage Open Day and Classic Car Show
The Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk and organising members of the Civic Society have made the joint decision that it is appropriate to postpone Heritage Open Day and the Classic Car Show that were planned for this Sunday, as a mark of respect following the death of HM The Queen.
Whilst we have only just made the decision to postpone these events we do hope we will be able to reorganise them in the coming weeks. The borough council would especially like to thank the Civic Society and all those involved in planning this complex event for their efforts and significant amount of work involved in changing these arrangements.
Council activities at The Custom House and St George's Guildhall
Activities scheduled to take place at the Custom House and St George's Guildhall in connection with the Towns Fund on Sunday have been cancelled in line with Heritage Open Day.
Following consultation with the Chairs of the Corporate Performance Panel, Regeneration and Development Panel, Cabinet, King's Lynn Area Consultative Committee and Area Museums Committee, as a mark of respect for HM The Queen, we are cancelling the following formal meetings scheduled during the official mourning period:
- CPP – Monday 12 September
- R&D – Tuesday 13 September
- Cabinet – Thursday 14 September
- KLACC – Monday 19 September
- Area Museums Committee – Monday 19 September
In recognition of the national period of mourning following the sad passing of HM The Queen, the ongoing consultation on the West Winch Framework Masterplan will be will be extended for ten days. It will now close on 27 September.
