An advisory board that will identify ideas and develop projects for the benefit of Hunstanton will take a step closer on 22 March with an initial session to discuss how it will be set up.

It is anticipated that the board will develop an investment plan, which will form the evidence base to support future funding bids in Hunstanton.

An initial session will be facilitated by the borough council on behalf of the town and it is hoped that business owners or representatives, and community organisations, will attend to have their say on how the board is developed.

Cllr Graham Middleton, deputy leader of the Borough Council of King’s Lynn and West Norfolk, and cabinet member for business, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for people who represent businesses and organisations, with an interest in the future of Hunstanton, to get involved at the outset and shape what the new advisory board will try to achieve.

“We need to create a shared vision for Hunstanton and be clear about how this advisory board will benefit the community. We need to consider what responsibilities the advisory board will have and who is best placed to represent the people of Hunstanton on it.

“This advisory board will be for Hunstanton so importantly at this stage, we want Hunstanton to own those decisions.

“If you are interested in the future of Hunstanton, and you represent businesses or organisations in the town, please attend our first session to be a part of creating an exciting future for the town.”

The initial session will include representatives from the town council, borough and county councils as well as members of the existing Coastal Communities Team. The session will consider some key questions about the formation of the advisory  board, including its key objectives and membership.

If you represent businesses or organisations in the town and you are interested in joining the session please email Chief.ExecutiveandLeaderPA@West-Norfolk.gov.uk. The session will be held on 22 March at 3pm.
