Holocaust Memorial Day was marked on Sunday, 23 January 2022, in King’s Lynn with a service at the town’s Tower Gardens at a tree planted more than 20 years ago at the first civic event.

Holocaust Memorial Day itself is on January 27 each year, the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz Birkenau - the largest of the Nazi’s death camps. It is also a time when other genocides, including those in Rwanda, Darfur, Cambodia and Bosnia, are all commemorated.
