The Walks in King’s Lynn hosts a new family-friendly free event this Bank Holiday weekend.

Cllr Graham Middleton, Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Business, Culture and Heritage, said: “The borough council has organised events and activities every weekend since we moved to step 4 of the roadmap in July. They’re aimed at encouraging people back into King’s Lynn and has been made possible by the Welcome Back funding given to us by the Government and the European Regional Development Fund.”

“This weekend will be the biggest and best yet. Fun in the Park brings a funfair, live music organised by Festival Too, food and drink to The Walks. The funfair starts at 6pm on Friday and runs throughout the Bank Holiday weekend.

“The Festival Too committee have organised great live music to enjoy from 2pm onwards on Saturday and Sunday. Bring a blanket or chair and make the most of this free family event.

Abbie Panks, Chair of the Festival Too committee, said: “It’s been so disappointing that we’ve had to postpone the last two years of Festival Too due to the pandemic, but we’re delighted to be able to do something new in The Walks this bank holiday. It may be a different venue to normal, but we have some great artists over the two days including Bear Club, Revival and Jessie’s Ghost. People can dance away to headliners Planet Abba on Saturday night and one of the UK’s most sought-after Madonna tribute acts, Tasha Leaper, on Sunday.”

Cllr Middleton added: “There’ll be even more entertainment on stage in the Tuesday Market Place on Saturday and Sunday. Thanks to funding from Discover King’s Lynn BID there will also be street entertainment and live music in the town too. King’s Lynn is the place to be this weekend and we’ve got more entertainment to come right up until the end of September.”
