The Borough Council of King's Lynn and West Norfolk Garden Wildlife Competition aims to acknowledge the important contribution that private gardens and communities can make to the biodiversity of West Norfolk
About the competition
It is our way to recognise residents for the work they do in their gardens and the contributions they make to local biodiversity. We also hope to raise awareness of biodiversity in the borough and the small actions individuals can take to make a big difference.
Whether you have a tiny terrace, or a large garden, you can be part of this initiative to save our amazing native plants and animals. Your garden could be a home for endangered wildlife including frogs and hedgehogs, swifts and butterflies.
Award categories
You can enter one of four individual categories:
- Best window box garden
- Best small garden (100sqm and under)
- Best large garden
- Best child garden (15 and under)
You can also enter with your community in two special categories:
- Nature friendly parish or ward
- Longest pollinator corridor in the borough
The closing date for receipt of nominations is 12pm on Friday 1 August 2025.
Details of the winning gardens may be published in the press and on our website.
