This page provides guidance and advice on the CIL processes, specifically aimed for agents and architects, submitting planning applications on behalf of their clients

Latest CIL Advice

The CIL Officer has provided a recorded training session, for professional bodies submitting Planning Applications to this Borough Council, which may be liable for CIL.

The aim of this session, is to assist agents and architects to have a broader understanding of the CIL Regulations, the statutory requirements and implications of non-compliance.

This training was tailored specifically for professional bodies/agents, working on behalf of their client.

Please Note: This advice relates to processes adopted by this Council, which we use to administer CIL, in line with the Regulations. This advice may differ, from practices adopted by other Collecting Authorities.

There are regular formal and informal agent forums, where the CIL Officer provides advice to agents and architects. This includes an update of the latest best practice and advice to avoid non-compliance surcharges.

Further details relating to planning advice for agents can be found on the Agents Forum webpages.
