How to pay your Council Tax by Direct Debit
Set up a Direct Debit online
Paying by Direct Debit is quick and easy. You can use our online form to:
- set up a new Direct Debit
- change your bank details
- change your instalment date
- change your method of payment
We can spread your payments over 10 or 12 months within the financial year. If paying by Direct Debit you can choose to pay on the 1st, 5th, 15th, or 25th of each month.
You can set up a Direct Debit using our online form. You can now track the progress of your application through registering for our MyRevenues service.
You'll also be able to view personalised information, including payment details and your latest Council Tax bill.
Registering for an account is easy and will allow you to securely access our services 24/7.
To set up or change an existing Direct Debit, you'll need:
- to log in/sign up to MyRevenues
- your bank or building society details (account number and sort code)

What happens next?
We'll issue you a bill within 10 working days. It will confirm that your Direct Debit has been set up and tell you your instalments. You'll also be able to view your request and track its progress within ‘My Changes’ when you sign in to your MyRevenues account. My Revenues allows you to view online your:
- account balance
- payments made
- future instalments
