How much will an allotment cost?
Allotment rents are calculated per m2. The present rate is £0.32 per m2. The rent may increase in line with inflation.
We charge rents annually. No refunds are given if tenancies are terminated by either party. All invoices must be paid within 40 days of issue.
Apply for an allotment
To be added to our allotment waiting list you must:
- be over 18 years of age
- not already have an allotment in another area of our borough
- not have any outstanding debts with us (we'll check this when you apply)
Allotments are allocated on a first come first served basis. You can't reserve the right for any particular plot within a site. And people living in the unparished areas of King's Lynn will have priority over those in the surrounding villages.

To apply for an allotment you'll need:
- your email address
- your preferred location (you can look for this on our find your nearest allotment page)
What happens next?
Once your application has been accepted you'll go on our waiting list. When a plot becomes available in your preferred location we'll contact you.
A change to your existing application
If you'd like to make a change to your existing allotment (like adding a co-worker or applying for livestock), you can do so on our apply for a change to your allotment page.
