Record details

More information

Please don't place sharps in your rubbish or recycling bin as they're extremely dangerous.

Sharps include:

  • diabetic blood testing kits
  • insulin pen needles
  • syringe needles for medical injections
  • needles from injecting drug users

Please make sure you dispose of these responsibly. Ask your doctor for a sharps box, and when ready for disposal take them to one of the pharmacies listed on the Norfolk Community Directory. This includes all of your local Boots pharmacies in west Norfolk and also Swaffham and Fakenham:

  • The Clock Pharmacy, Gaywood
  • Rainbow Pharmacy, South Wootton
  • Upwell Health Centre, Upwell
  • Fairbrother Pharmacy, Dersingham

Doctors surgeries will dispense sharps boxes but not necessarily be able to take them back for disposal.

For further assistance is available should it be required please contact waste.management@west-norfolk.gov.uk.
