West Norfolk businesses are being reminded to apply for Covid-19 support grants available from the borough council as some of the grants will soon close.
Nearly £60M has been paid out in west Norfolk since April 2020 through a number of grants including local restrictions, discretionary, Christmas wet-led pub, sector, and closed business lockdown to thousands of local businesses, village halls and sports clubs.
Cllr Stuart Dark MBE, Cabinet Member for Environmental Services and Public Protection, at the Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk said: “Throughout the pandemic we have been proactively reminding people through Town and Parish councils, business forums, the press and social media that these support grants are available.
“At the end of this month (31st March) applications close for tier 2 and 4 restriction grants as well as national lockdown and discretionary grants up to the 15 February 2021 so we are reaching out again, to ensure people are aware to get their applications in prior to this deadline.
“We know how hard the last few months have been and we simply don’t want anyone entitled to support to miss out.”
Cllr Graham Middleton, Cabinet Member for Business Development, added: “Our great west Norfolk businesses have done the very best they can throughout this difficult situation, and I’m pleased to see that Restart Grants will be available from April. These grants, of up to £6,000 per premises for non-essential retail businesses, and up to £18,000 per premises for hospitality, accommodation, leisure, personal care and gym businesses; should help restart our local economy.”
