Repair work to the wooden bridge in Hardwick Road Cemetery (Tesco side) is scheduled to take place during the week commencing 20 July 2020.
During this time, the bridge will be closed and there will be no access to that area of the cemetery for pedestrians or vehicles.
The work is likely to take three or four days. Access for vehicles and pedestrians will be reinstated once the work has been completed.
Cllr Paul Kunes, Cabinet Member with responsibility for the the crematorium and cemeteries, said: "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to visitors. We will reopen the bridge as soon as we can so that people can access that area of the cemetery. Clearly, ensuring visitors' safety has to be our first priority, so appreciate people's understanding while this work takes place."
