A special event aimed at supporting carers is being organised by the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk.
Carers Conference West Norfolk will take place at Lynnsport in King’s Lynn on Wednesday 18 March 2020 with the aim of offering advice and support to carers living across west Norfolk, Swaffham and surrounding Breckland villages.
The free event, being held between 10am and 2pm, will also give organisations the opportunity to network with other local providers.
Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, deputy leader and portfolio holder for culture, heritage and health said:
“Save the date for the Carers Conference West Norfolk. It will be a great event to attend for carers and their families in west Norfolk and parts of Breckland.
“People can discover what support is available in the area, including details of what council managed services Careline, Care and Repair and Lily can offer. Dementia, and how to handle it, is one of the topics that will be discussed on the day.
“The last census showed that there were 6.5 million carers in the UK. That’s one in eight people and the figure is rising. Unpaid carers save the UK £132 billion a year.”
Services or organisations that would like to be part of the event should contact Harry Clarke at the borough council to book a free exhibition space. Email harry.clarke@west-norfolk.gov.uk or call 01553 616200 and ask for Careline.
