During the half term holiday over 50 children tried to escape the old gaol house cells inside Stories of Lynn.
The tricky escape room tasks were planned by young volunteers from Kick the Dust in King’s Lynn, a partnership between Norfolk Museums Service, YMCA Norfolk, Creative Collisions and Norfolk Library and Information Service.
There were three different cells to escape with crafty challenges. Strawberry kids was based on a true tale of five boys imprisoned for stealing strawberries; a Halloween witch based theme; and the third cell was based on John Cooper who escaped from the cell back in 1901.
Rachael Williams, learning and engagement officer for Stories of Lynn, said: “I am very proud of my young people’s achievements and delighted with the way Freya, Melissa, Hollie and Stephen made sure the visitor experience was high quality and very enjoyable on the day; others had set up the escape plans and prepared the challenges but not all could be there on the day to deliver the plan.
“It was hard work to keep setting up the room, keeping the visitors on track and on time, taking photos, handing out prizes and certificates… but they did it!”
