Tuesday Market Place to be full of tales, magic and play

On Sunday 8 September, King’s Lynn’s market square will be filled with characters, giant games, stories, performances, magic and more as it hosts a brand new family event.

TMPlay, a celebration of tales, magic and play, takes place between 10am and 3pm in the Tuesday Market Place. Princesses will be playing games like pass the treasure chest and parachute fun. Batman and Spiderman will be on hand to help, alongside Transformers Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

Children and adults can sign up now to take part in workshops including a Greatest Showman dance session and learn Witches and Wizards 101. There will be arrrrrrrgh-mazing entertainment from the Pirate Captain’s Magic Show and The Dick Danger Show will include a trick that involves diving from a very high pole into a bucket of water.

Bubbleology have plenty of bubble skills, meanwhile Tilly the Talespinner will weave a web of story magic to fire the imagination and warm the heart. Also, throughout the day, children can take on the challenge of the climbing tower.

Councillor Graham Middleton, cabinet portfolio holder for business development including events, said: “This is another exciting free event from the borough council and a great reason to visit the town centre on Sunday. There will be lots for children and adults to enjoy on the Tuesday Market Place.”

“They can finish their first week back at school by meeting some superheroes and princesses, seeing magical things and amazing stunts, hearing great stories and, maybe, having a dance.”
