To celebrate the return of Norfolk Day, council employees from across the county are riding their bikes on a cycle relay around the county.

Carrying the Norfolk Day flag and handing it over to each neighbouring local authority. North Norfolk District Council will deliver the flag, having cycled along the coast, passed Sandringham and Castle Rising, to the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk King’s Court offices on 26 July.

Deputy Leader of the borough council, Elizabeth Nockolds will sign the flag and set our riders off on Friday afternoon. Chief Executive, Ray Harding, will lead our group from the borough council, through town, Gayton, and Litcham towards the Breckland council offices in Dereham.

Being supported by a team from Pedal Revolution in Norwich, the full course covers nearly 170 miles, the west Norfolk part of the route is 26.2 miles.

Updates will be posted on the borough council Facebook and Twitter accounts. You can also search for #NorfolkRelay19 to follow the full route on social media.

Norfolk Day is Saturday 27 July. This is the second time that the County has celebrated Norfolk Day.
