Households across west Norfolk will soon receive letters for the annual voter registration canvass from the borough council.

The aim is to ensure that the electoral register is up to date and to encourage residents who may not be registered to do so.

With a Police and Crime Commissioner election taking place across the country in May 2020, this is an opportunity for residents to make sure that when the election takes place they will be able to take part.

Mary Colangelo, Electoral Services Manager for the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk said: “If you’re not currently registered, we’ll send you information explaining how to do this or you can just go online to apply to register at www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.

“It’s particularly important that anyone who has moved address recently looks out for the form and checks whether they are registered.

“If you have changed address in the last year, it’s particularly likely that you will need to register at your new address, so check the form as soon as it arrives.”

Any residents who have any questions can contact Electoral Services at (01553) 616773 or e-mail register.electors@west-norfolk.gov.uk
