Mayor of King’s Lynn and west Norfolk, Nick Daubney, welcomed Phil Barrett to the mayor’s parlour in the town hall on 9 May to accept a donation of a water colour painting of the historic building.

The painting that has been gifted to the town hall had been owned by the parents of Mr Barrett.

The Mayor said: “I had a great fondness for Mr Barrett’s parents, Leonard and Marjorie, and am delighted to accept the painting on behalf of King’s Lynn Town Hall and the museums service”.

Mr Barrett was happy to donate the painting: “I hope everybody will feel that this charming little painting is well worth accepting as part of your archive or exhibits. We are pleased to gift the painting to the Town Hall and Museum”.
