A Beginner's Running Course for Women returns to the Hunstanton Heritage Gardens!

The Borough Council of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk and Alive Leisure will stage a beginners’ running course for women only, using the Hunstanton Heritage Gardens as a base. The course will start on Thursday 4 April and run for six consecutive Thursdays. The sessions will begin at 6:30pm, meeting at the Victorian Pavilion (Crazy Golf Hut by the play area). The charge is just £12 for the six-week course.

The course is ideal for women who have never run before, or for those who want to return to running. The course leader is Bridget Plowright from the women’s running club Lynnsport Ladybirds. Bridget, a qualified UKA Running Coach, said: “The course progresses slowly and gently, walking and jogging at first. No one need be nervous that they will get left behind because no one is ever left on their own. The course leaders are sensitive to the needs of all participants. Participants are genuinely surprised at the progress they make over the six weeks. It’s always very sociable so I would encourage women of all ages and abilities to come and join us and give it a go – the only thing you need to be is enthusiastic!”

The organisers hope that the course will lead to more women joining the Hunnybees running group which was established as a result of last year's beginners' course in Hunstanton.

Participation is by application only. Application forms are available:
