Find out more about the Sheep Field Community Housing Development
Anyone in the Hunstanton area who is interested in buying or renting a property on the new Sheep Field Community Housing Development is invited to come along to a community consultation and engagement event on Thursday, 31 January 2019.
Hunstanton Town Council is hosting this drop-in session at the town hall between 2pm and 8pm.
People attending will be able to find out more about this small development of approximately 30 homes. They will be able to speak with the project team and also find out what being involved with a community-led housing development means. They will be able to find out about eligibility criteria and be able to register their interest in the properties and getting involved with the project.
Cllr Adrian Lawrence, Cabinet Member for Housing, said: "Around 50 people signed up following on from a similar event last year. Having listened to all the feedback from the consultation, a new site layout and detailed floors plans will now be available to view".
"The Sheep Field, near Tesco in Hunstanton will feature approximately 30 homes. These will predominantly be affordable, helping to meet the needs of local people who are finding it increasingly difficult to get on the housing ladder. Preference for these low-cost homes will be given to local people".
"This innovative scheme also means the people who could potentially be living on this site, can get involved in the design of the properties as well as forming a community to design some of the external areas and to come up with arrangements for the future management of the site. It is a very different approach and we are very much looking forward to continuing our work with the local community on this project".
Representatives from the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, Hunstanton Town Council, and Victory Housing will be on hand to respond to questions or provide more information.
