Local good causes are being invited to the launch of West Norfolk Wins, a brand new community lottery organised by us.
The launch event, which takes place on Tuesday 20 March at 5:30pm, at the town hall in King's Lynn, starts with a brief introduction to the lottery and ends with an opportunity to network and sign up over light refreshments.
Cllr Elizabeth Nockolds, deputy leader and cabinet member for Culture, Heritage, and Health, said: "We understand that in the current economic climate it is often charities, groups and other community organisations who face the biggest budget cuts. This community lottery will give them a mechanism for raising much needed cash. Charities that sign up will receive 50p for every £1 West Norfolk Wins ticket sold in support of their organisation. A further 10p will go into a community fund which will be allocated by the borough council through its financial assistance grants."
West Norfolk Wins is being run by Gatherwell on behalf of the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk. Gatherwell's Managing Director Ben Speares will be at the launch event to give a brief presentation on how the lottery works, what is expected of organisations that sign up, and how they can benefit. There is no cost to any community group signing up.
