The knowledge and commitment of long-serving borough council staff was recognised at the annual Long Service Awards presentation at King’s Lynn Town Hall on Wednesday 7 February.
Thirty-five members of staff, who have served 450 years with the council between them, received Long Service Awards this year. This includes staff who have worked for the council for 10, 20, 30, and 40 years.
Cllr Brian Long, leader of the borough council, said: “I am very pleased to be attending my second successive Long Service Awards ceremony as leader of the council. I hope all borough council employees know how much my colleagues and I value their dedication and expertise every day, but this ceremony gives me a chance to thank personally staff who have reached these landmarks in their careers with the council. The experience our staff have gained over decades is invaluable, and means we can face any challenge with resilience.”
Cllr Long introduced the ceremony, and the Mayor of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, Cllr Carol Bower, presented certificates to the award recipients.
