A request to hold an election to fill three vacancies on Thornham Parish Council has been received. The date of the election (subject to a contest) has been fixed as Thursday 8 February 2018.
The Notice of Election will be published on Thursday 4 January 2018, and nomination papers must be received by the Returning Officer by 4pm on Friday 12 January 2018. Anyone wishing to withdraw a nomination must do so in the prescribed manner by 4pm on Friday 12 January 2018.
Voting will take place at The Meeting Room, Thornham Village Hall, High Street, Thornham, Hunstanton, PE36 6LX. The polling station will be open from 7am to 10pm.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by Tuesday 23 January 2018.
Anyone unable to vote in person on that day should check if they are eligible for a postal or proxy vote by contacting Electoral Services on 01553 616773.
The deadline for applications to vote by post is 5pm on Wednesday 24 January 2018 (whether new or an amendment to an existing arrangement, including postal proxies).
The deadline for new applications to vote by proxy is 5pm on Wednesday 31 January 2018. For an amendment to an existing arrangement, the form must be received by 5pm on Wednesday 24 January 2018.
The last day for receipt of emergency proxy vote applications (if the emergency did not exist at 5pm on Wednesday 31 January 2018) is 5pm on Thursday 8 February 2018.
Postal votes will be despatched around Friday 26 January 2018.
