Residents of North Runcton and West Winch and Walpole Cross Keys will go to the polls on 28 September to vote in Neighbourhood Planning referendums.

We're reminding residents of those parishes that if they want to have their say and aren’t already registered to vote, they need to make sure they are by the deadline of Tuesday 12 September.

Mary Colangelo, borough council Electoral Services Manager, said: “We’ve been getting a few calls from residents who’ve been confusing registering to vote with the Household Enquiry Form we’ve sent out recently. The purpose of the Household Enquiry Form is to check that the data we already hold on registered voters is accurate, as part of the annual canvass. If your name isn’t on the Household Enquiry Form, you’re not registered to vote at that address. You can’t register to vote by completing the form, you need to do that separately, and the easiest way is online at gov.uk/registertovote

The deadline for applications to vote by post is 5pm on Wednesday 13 September 2017 (new arrangements and amendments to existing arrangements, including postal proxies). This is also the deadline for amendments to existing arrangements to vote by proxy.

The deadline for new applications to vote by proxy is 5pm on Wednesday 20 September 2017.

The deadline for emergency proxy vote applications (if the emergency arose after 5pm on Wednesday 20 September 2017) is 5pm on Thursday 28 September 2017.
