A Borough Council service described by the Local Government Association as ‘key to almost everything that’s delivered or achieved by councils’ has achieved a platinum award for the third year in a row
King’s Lynn and West Norfolk’s Address Data Management was awarded the accolade by GeoPlace, a partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey.
Cllr Jim Moriarty, the council’s Cabinet Member for Planning and Licensing, said:
“Address Data Management probably doesn’t sound that exciting outside the council but getting it right is absolutely key to delivering our services.
Our Address Management Team has worked incredibly hard to ensure our data is first class and I am delighted they have been recognised both for their work and the results.”
Addressing is a valuable resource for every local authority service, as it enables the identification and improvement of services and outcomes for people and businesses. Address Custodians promote better management and use of address data across the authority, and this award reflects the skill, attention to detail and commitment required to maintain high standards in an ever-changing dataset.
