County council election news

Your vote matters. Don't lose it

On 4 May 2017 voters in the Borough of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk will go to the polls to elect their new county councillors.

The borough council’s Electoral Services team is urging everyone to make sure they make their vote count on 4 May 2017. Anyone who is not included on the Register of Electors has until Thursday, 13 April 2017 to register.

To register:

  • visit www.gov.uk/registertovote; or
  • contact Electoral Services on 01553 616773 (applicants will need their National Insurance number).

Polling stations will be open from 7am to 10pm on 4 May 2017.

Not available to vote in person?

The deadline for new postal vote applications (including proxies applying to vote by post), changes or cancellations to existing postal, postal proxy or proxy votes, is 5pm on Tuesday 18 April 2017.

The deadline for receipt of new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxy) at this election, is 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017.

The deadline for receipt of emergency applications to vote by proxy at this election, applied for on the grounds of physical incapacity if the applicant becomes incapacitated after 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017, is 5pm on Thursday 4 May 2017.

The deadline for receipt of emergency applications to vote by proxy at this election, applied for on the grounds of work/service if the applicant becomes aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday 25 April 2017, is 5pm on Thursday 4 May 2017.
