This year's annual Civic Service marking the inauguration of the new mayor is being combined with a service of thanksgiving for Her Majesty the Queen's 90th Birthday.

The service will take place at King's Lynn Minster on Sunday, 12 June 2016 at 11.30am.  During the service the new mayor, Cllr David Whitby, who took office on Thursday 12 May, will dedicate himself to the service of the borough. He will receive the Borough’s Sword as a symbol of his authority.

A special service of thanksgiving to celebrate Her Majesty the Queen's 90th birthday will follow.

The service will be preceded by a civic procession from the town hall to King's Lynn Minster.

Members of the public are warmly invited to attend the service.
