Information about the proposed new fee structure
Animal Welfare Licence (AWL) Fees Consultation
The current fees for animal welfare licensing were introduced when the new Regulations came into effect in October 2018. A review has been conducted, based on actual costs incurred over the preceding 3 year period, and this has identified a need to increase fees.
Regulations prescribe everything we can recover to fulfil our statutory obligations under the AWL licensing regime.
Whilst there is no set requirement to consult with licence holders, wel feel it appropriate to consider the views of licence holders on the proposed changes.
Details of the proposed new fee structure can be found here.
The consultation ended on 27 January 2023. Representations are being considered and a decision will be made in due course.
