Find out about our proposals for developing Hunstanton
Hunstanton Bus Station and library site
We're looking for the public's view on a number of projects within Hunstanton.
We're proposing to redevelop the site that currently holds the Bus Station and library. We're proposing:
- around 50 new flats
- a new larger library for the town
- a new commercial premises for shops and offices
To facilitate this, the bus stops will be relocated onto the streets in new, safe, and efficient locations. Please see our revised bus stop location plan.
All flats shall be one or two beds, and fall within the Governments Help to Buy Scheme. The scheme shall include an affordable housing provision of 20%.

80-bedroom hotel
As has been reported in the press, we're in the early stages of negotiation with a national hotel operator, looking to bring an 80-bedroom hotel to Seagate East car park. Your comments on these early proposals would be greatly appreciated.
Minimising the impact
The schemes above, as well as other proposals for the town including the delivery of Phase 1 of the Southend Seafront Masterplan, will have an impact on the towns parking provision. But a number of steps are being taken to minimise this impact. You can find out more on our car parking mitigation plan.
Have your say
You can have your say on this consultation by completing our online form.
The consultation is open until 17 November.
Once we've received your comments, we'll consider these before making a decision on how we proceed with our proposals. We currently anticipate that construction of the new library and flats will take around 18 months. And we expect work to start mid-2020.
