Fawkes in the Walks is back with a bang

Fawkes In The Walks. Friday 5th November 2021

Published: Thursday, 14th October 2021

The area’s biggest free fireworks display and bonfire returns to The Walks in King’s Lynn on Friday 5 November 2021.

Fawkes in the Walks, organised by the Borough Council of King's Lynn & West Norfolk, brings thousands of local residents, and visitors from near and far, to Lynn’s beautiful park to see a traditional bonfire and a dazzling firework display.

The fun will start at 6pm, when the park will be packed with stalls and rides. Cllr Harry Humphrey, the Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, will light the bonfire at 6:30pm, The Chebbs perform on stage at 7pm and the firework display is scheduled to begin at 8pm.

Cllr Graham Middleton, borough council Deputy Leader and Cabinet member for Business, Culture and Heritage, said: “Remember, remember, the fifth of November. Having missed out in 2020 we’re looking forward to coming back with a bang and putting on an amazing display. Fawkes in The Walks will be as spectacular as ever, and I’d urge everyone to come along and join us.

Once again Fawkes in The Walks will have its own Snapchat filter. Between 5pm and 9pm users can add the official filter to their snaps and let their friends know they're enjoying the event! The borough council will also be sharing any snaps that are saved and posted to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #FawkesinTheWalks.

Fawkes in The Walks is free to attend. A voluntary collection will be made on the evening to help cover the cost of the event, and every donation is appreciated. Charges may be made for other activities.

Children should be accompanied by an adult.

People are advised not to bring pets to the park during the evening. This is an organised display, private fireworks and sparklers are not permitted in The Walks.

Please do not bring firewood for the bonfire as this will not be accepted.

The entrance to The Walks from Seven Sisters/Extons Road, the Library gates and County Court Road will be closed on the evening from 7:45pm. People planning to enter the park after 7:45pm are advised to use the Tennyson Avenue and Blackfriars Road entrances.

Permitted sellers will be inside the Walks, please support your local event by only using the ones inside the park for flashing glows and other novelties.

The most convenient car park for the event is the St James' multi-storey, and attendees are advised to use this.

Anyone planning to attend the event are advised to monitor the council's social media channels for up-to-date information or any changes to arrangements.
