Emergency proxy vote

How to apply for an emergency proxy vote

Apply for a proxy vote in an emergency

If the deadline for a normal proxy vote has passed, you may only apply for a proxy vote in an emergency, based on:

  • disability
  • occupation, service or employment

To apply for an emergency proxy vote you must download the application form, complete it and ensure that the form is certified by an appropriate person. Both application forms are at the bottom of this page.

Your application form must then be delivered to the Electoral Services Manager no later than 5:00pm on the day of election. Once your application has been processed your nominated proxy will be issued with a letter. Because of the tight timescales, your proxy may need to come to collect the letter from Electoral Services so they can take it with them to your appointed polling station.
